On this episode host Brad Fowler talks about some NFL news around the league, he gives his thoughts on Kyler Murray's contract extension and the clause, and he interviews RJ Ochoa (@rjochoa) of SB Nation about the Dallas Cowboys.
RJ Ochoa covers the Dallas Cowboys as the Manager and Editor and Chief of SB Nation's BloggingTheBoys.com, and a host of The Ocho and The SB Nation NFL Show.
Here are the questions we asked RJ:
There's been alot of discussion in the media this off season about Dak Prescott and if he is or isn't a top 10 QB in the NFL? What's your take?
Another high profile player that seems to start alot of debate is CB Trevon Diggs, he had a NFL high 11 interceptions last year but many point to advanced analytics and say he also gave up alot of yards, you cover this team as close as anyone so, is he overrated or underrated?
Dallas opens vs Tampa Bay then plays the defending AFC Champion Bengals, they also play the defending Super Bowl Champion LA Rams in week 5, if Dallas starts 0-2, then maybe falls to 1-4, would Mike McCarthy survive that scenario?
The running back position has become a interesting topic for Dallas, Zeke Elliott turns 27 going into this season and hasn't looked like the player we saw a few years ago, and Tony Pollard when he's been given more touches, he's provided more results. Does Dallas give him a bigger role in the offense this year?
I wanna ask you about the WR group, Amari Cooper is now a Cleveland Brown, multi part question; who becomes the No. 3 option at WR, What is a real time frame for Michael Gallups return? and is CeeDee Lamb ready to be the legit No. 1 WR for this offense?
Another key loss this off season for Dallas was Randy Gregory, who was a consistent pass rusher on the edge for the Cowboys who according to PFF had 43 pressures last season to go with his 6 sacks. How does Dallas replace that type of production?
The Cowboys caught alot of heat for their draft class from the media, this podcast included, what are your overall thoughts on the class? which picks did you like and not like?
