Today's Guest Kevin Bryant Kevin an Army veteran with over twenty years of experience safeguarding and gathering information for the Department of Defense, including thirteen years as a Special Agent and graduated from the University of California Santa Cruz (UCSC) with a B.A. in History, and graduated with top honors from American Military University with an M.S. in Sports Management and a M.A. in Intelligence Studies. He is the author of the book "Spies on the Sidelines: The High-Stakes World of NFL Espionage" Here are the questions we asked Kevin: • This book, that recently came out, I'm excited to read this. Before we dive into the book itself, I read you have a background in sports management and were also a special agent for the U.S. Government, is that what got you interested in writing this book? • When we hear about NFL spying, most of us think about the Patriots and Spygate, Josh McDaniels also got in some similar trouble when he was the head coach in Denver, but from what I've read about the book, there's a long history of NFL teams trying gain a competitive advantage off the field, so how far back did your research take you? What's the earliest record of NFL spying that you found? • Have you found evidence that the NFL has been actively trying to cover up these types of scandals? • How difficult was it to find these stories and find credible sources? • Some of this book reads like a FBI novel with the level of deception. What was the most high tech story you uncovered for this book? • How many NFL teams did you find out were doing these types of things? • From the information you gathered for this book, did you find any times where teams gained a competitive advantage that was against the NFL rules, that directly impacted the outcome of a playoff or Super Bowl game? • Did you find that these types of actions were being done by primarily coaching staffs or was there ever owners, GMs or players evolved? • What were some of the down right craziest stories you uncovered when researching for this book? • What was the most dangerous attempt to gather information a team, coach ect. attempted? • I cant imagine the NFL is excited about this book. Has anyone from the NFL reached out to you and tried to stop you from releasing this book?
